About
House-sitting should be easy, kind, and free.
Housitters is a community platform that connects people who travel with people who love looking after homes and pets, in Hebrew and English.

The problem we’re solving
Until now, finding a house-sitter meant choosing between two bad options:
Free but chaotic: Facebook groups with no search filters and posts that disappear in the feed.
Organized but costly: international platforms charging around $200 a year for membership.
Housitters is both organized and free. Search by dates and region, read real reviews, and talk directly.
Who’s behind it
Housitters was founded by Elad Laor, a software engineer who has been house-sitting since April 2021. For a year he wrote a monthly column about it for Haaretz, which brought more invitations than he could accept.
Getting to know the community, he kept hearing the same frustration with the existing tools. Housitters is his answer: built by someone who actually does this, and shaped by the people who use it.
